Algorithms, Data, Democracy, And Innovation

The section is currently expanding its research on algorithms, big data, and how these affect innovation and democracy.
Of particular interest here is how the use of algorithmic logics can affect innovation trajectories, as well as how one can ensure trust in decision-making regarding innovation and technology when this is increasingly supported by machine learning and artificial intelligences.
By studying the way in which algorithmic management colonizes ever-greater parts of activities in technology-based companies, the aim is to create a better understanding of both the potential and the perils of algorithm-driven innovation, and how mechanisms can be put in place to ensure that inclusivity and diversity are protected.
