Internship Programme of Civil and Architectural Engineering

The Urban Resilience Research Group undertakes transdisciplinary research, and education and knowledge transfer activities on urban resilient transition, addressing both causes and effects of climate change in cities. The group’s activities are aimed at informing policy making at international and national level, as well as at supporting science-based urban planning and design at local level, both in the global north and the global south. The urban resilience group actively contributes to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris Agreement, the New Urban Agenda and the Sendai Action Framework for Risk Reduction.

Internship Responsibilities

Depending on the interests and qualifications of the applicant, and on the current activities and priorities of the Urban Resilience Research Group, tailor-made internship programme and activities will be agreed with the successful applicants.

Current Priority Topics for the Internship

  • Climate change and health in cities;
  • Integrated urban water management, and water sensitive cities;
  • Housing and sustainable development goals;
  • Circular economy and circular urban metabolism;
  • Multi-level governance for urban resilience;
  • Integrated coastal zone management and marine spatial planning governance;
  • Coastal Green Infrastructures for climate adaptation solution;
  • Capacity building for urban resilience;
  • Evaluation of urban resilience.
  • Tools and methods for urban resilience transition.
  • Operationalization of urban resilience.

The topics are related to current research, operational and capacity building projects currently in different stages of development.
