About QM

Newly established

The Centre for Quantum Mathematics opened 1 November 2019 at SDU. Initially it was affiliated to the Mads Clausen Institute at the Faculty of Engineering, but from 1 January 2021 the center is affiliated to the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Faculty of Science.

QM researchers perform research in mathematics with relations to quantum theory, covering both foundations as well as applications to quantum engineering.

The centre is led by Professor Jørgen Ellegaard Andersen and the administrative staff is constituted by centre administrator Jane Jamshidi.

Head of the centre

Head of centre Jørgen Ellegaard Andersen is an appointed chair at the Danish Institute for Advanced Study (D-IAS) at SDU.

He has previously led the Centre for Quantum Geometry of Moduli Spaces (QGM) - a DNRF Center of Excellence at the Department of Mathematics at Aarhus University (2009-2019 – DKK 89.2 million).

In 2018, he was granted an ERC Synergy Grant of EUR 10 million to the project Recursive and Exact New Quantum Theory (ReNewQuantum / 2019-2025).
