The principal supervisor

The principal supervisor must be a recognised researcher in the relevant academic field and hold qualifications corresponding to the level of professor, associate professor or senior researcher, be employed at the University of Southern Denmark and attached to the PhD School. He/she must hold supervisory qualifications. New supervisors must have completed the PhD supervisor course at the University of Southern Denmark or a similar course carried out at another research institution. The principal supervisor has overall responsibility for the PhD programme as a whole.

The principal supervisor is appointed by the Head of PhD School on the recommendation of the Head of Department. Please use the PhD School’s form “Indstilling til ph.d.-skoleleder om udpegning af hoved- og medvejleder” (Only available in Danish).
