Stata is a versatile statistical analysis software. It is an ideal tool to do basic as well as advanced statistical analyses.
The course is intended for beginners, for those who want to brush-up their Stata skills, and for those with knowledge about statistical models or methods who want to know how to implement them in Stata. It is specifically about using Stata rather than explaining statistical concepts or methods.
We will give a short introduction to the basic features of Stata so that you find your way around, can execute simple commands and write script files for re-usage of Stata code. After that you work on your own choosing from a set of modules concerning different aspects of Stata, especially covering data management, statistical analysis and graphics. You are not meant to work through all the modules, but to choose the ones most relevant to you. You may work on the modules either alone or in groups. We will be around to help you if you have questions or encounter a problem you cannot resolve
Expected learning outcomes:
Able to use Stata's data input-output facilities, writing re-usable Stata code and perform simple data-management and statistical analysis tasks
