The research unit contains the specialties in internal medicine and emergency medicine and employs three experienced research nurses. Furthermore, the research in Cardiology has been founded in the research unit. Traditionally, the research unit has conducted a number of clinical trials and, to a lesser extent, research. Presently, the research unit experiences a renewed momentum and is in the process of the start-up of the department’s first PhD project.

In terms of management, the research unit belongs to Medicine.

Currently, Kolding Hospital is applying the finishing touches to a common research section for the entire hospital where, among other things, the PhD-students will have a common base.
