I received my PhD degree in 2016 at the University of Southern Denmark under supervision of Prof. Susanne Mandrup, where my work was centered around understanding the transcriptional networks that control white, brite, and brown adipocyte development and function. After this, I joined Prof. Herzigs group at the Helmholtz Diabetes Center as a postdoctoral fellow/project team leader studying the molecular mechanism of organ dysfunction in different diabetes-related disorders, such as non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and diabetic nephropathy.

In the summer of 2020, I rejoined Prof. Mandrups lab to work as a senior postdoc on the ATLAS project. Here I will study how the perivascular adipose tissue contributes to diabetes-associated cardiovascular diseases using a combination of mouse models, human biopsies and single cell technologies.
