Research interests: Biodemography, method development for ageing research, wellbeing and survival of oldest old.
Fernando Colchero is an Associate Professor at the Interdisciplinary Center on Population Dynamics and at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Southern Denmark. He specializes on developing Bayesian inference models for age-specific survival and fecundity, and mathematical models to understand population dynamics in stochastic environments. He has published in Science, PNAS, Current Biology, Ecology Letters, among many other renowned international peer reviewed scientific journals. His research has been featured in the Guardian, Le Monde, BBC, as well as a large number of Scientific Outreach outlets.
