The research aims to:
- Develop digital twins for energy ecosystems;
- Test and evaluate performances of solutions (especially software and algorithms) and business models in given energy ecosystems;
- Build value chain partnership for system solutions;
The research uses multiple types of data (qualitative, quantitative and big data) with the applied methodologies of:
- Multi-agent systems
- System dynamics
- Discrete event simulation
- Business ecosystem modeling
- CSTEP (climate, socio-, technical-, economic-, political) factor analysis
The applied domains:
- Smart grid (distribution networks)
- Electricity markets (especially demand response participation)
- Intensive energy use industries (Greenhouses, cooling processes, etc.)
- Microgrids
- District heating
- Distributed energy resources (e.g. Electric Vehicles)
- Smart buildings (e.g. B2G)
