Smart Energy Business Ecosystems

The research aims to:

  • Develop digital twins for energy ecosystems;
  • Test and evaluate performances of solutions (especially software and algorithms) and business models in given energy ecosystems;
  • Build value chain partnership for system solutions;

The research uses multiple types of data (qualitative, quantitative and big data) with the applied methodologies of:

  • Multi-agent systems
  • System dynamics
  • Discrete event simulation
  • Business ecosystem modeling
  • CSTEP (climate, socio-, technical-, economic-, political) factor analysis

 

The applied domains:

  • Smart grid (distribution networks)
  • Electricity markets (especially demand response participation)
  • Intensive energy use industries (Greenhouses, cooling processes, etc.)
  • Microgrids
  • District heating
  • Distributed energy resources (e.g. Electric Vehicles)
  • Smart buildings (e.g. B2G)
