Research methods service 

The Centre offers guidance for students and researchers for preparing systematic reviews. In special cases the Centre offers guidance for preparing other types of research.

 

Short-term guidance

The short-term service consists of a 1-hour guidance in systematic reviews. The service is open to researchers at the University of Southern Denmark Department of Clinical Research and Odense University Hospital. 

 

Long-term guidance

The long-term service consists of up to a total of 10 hours of guidance.
The long-term service is available to: 

  • PhD students at the University of Southern Denmark Department of Clinical Research preparing any type of systematic reviews
  • Other researchers at the University of Southern Denmark Department of Clinical Research and researchers at the Odense University Hospital specifically preparing Cochrane reviews 

The long-term guidance is (in cases where the above does not apply) also offered to researchers at the University of Southern Denmark Department of Clinical Research and Odense University Hospital preparing other types of systematic reviews, and to researchers affiliated with OPEN, based on availability and the nature of the research project.

Application to the research methods service

An application for research methods guidance for preparing systematic reviews should be addressed to OPEN  and should contain:

a) A brief outline of the review’s research question, if possible in PICO format (clarification of patient population, intervention, control and outcome) or in the form of a protocol
b) Information about the research group undertaking the review 
c) Prior experience with preparing systematic reviews
d) Information on the expected time frame for the review
