A popular belief is that CT skills trained in one subject can be reapplied in unmodified form in others. But research fails to confirm this belief. Our project aims to develop and empirically assess research-grounded, philosophically consistent, operationalizable pedagogical designs for CT that take the situative of the skills into account.
It’s also central for the project to use Computational things to support learners’ motivation for developing skills within the field of computational thinking.
The project takes 4 years and utilizes theoretical and empirical research to develop a foundation for CT-pedagogics at all educational levels: preschool, primary school, high school and tertiary education. The project involves four senior researchers, two Post.docs and one PhD student.
