Earth Vision and Remote Sensing Technologies - March 12, 2021 (11-13)
The theme of the event is 'Earth Visions', focusing on the ways in which the earth is visualised and envisioned through different forms of emerging technologies and how this may lead to new understandings of our relationship to the environment. Questions of scale, temporality as well as discourse concerning the aesthetics of the Anthropocene, environmental politics and posthumanist perspectives are invited to be discussed in regards to these technologically lead perspectives. As a note, the reference to 'vision' for this theme refers not only to an act of sight or the representations of a site, but also references a speculative approach pointing towards the role of imagination on a planetary scale.
The event will be a panel discussion and will take place on the morning of March 12, 2021. Zoom. 11-13.
