Contemporary Danish foreign policy in challenging times

This lecture will give a unique insight into key trends in European and international politics, as well as thoughts on how Denmark can overcome the big foreign policy and security challenges that lay ahead. Sørensen will zoom in on how it is to be a state official and diplomat in the current international climate. The talk will also lead into a debate where the audience can ask questions regarding the current strategies behind the current Danish foreign and security policy and international politics in general.

As political director in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, former ambassador Sørensen is working with a wide range of international questions and challenges that Denmark faces today. Sørensen advises the foreign minister on key issues such as Brexit, the transatlantic turbulence, the relationship to Russia and Iran as well as the fight against terror.
