Because of the Coronavirus lockdown, more and more online resources and publishing houses provide open access

See the resources below:

Access only for SDU staff and students:

  • ScienceDirect Textbooks (access until June 17th 2020)

    The 256 textbooks currently on ScienceDirect will be automatically entitled to all active ScienceDirect customers (including those journals customers who do not currently have books) for a period of 90 days. Users accessing ScienceDirect through IP or remote access will be able to use these books while campuses are closed.

  • Proquest e-books (access until June 30th 2020)
    The ebooks purchased by the University Library of Southern Denmark have been opened with unlimited access. Find the books via the library catalogue.

  • Ebsco e-books (access until June 30th 2020)
    The ebooks purchased by the University Library of Southern Denmark have been opened with unlimited access.  Find the books via the library catalogue.

  • DawsonEra e-books (access until June 15th 2020)
    The ebooks purchased by the University Library of Southern Denmark have been opened with unlimited access.  Find the books via the library catalogue.

  • Karnov (access until April 14th 2020)
    Remote access to Karnov and the journals in Karnov that the library subscribes to. Normally you only have access to the database from campus.

  • Synopsis (access until April 14th 2020)

  • Gideon (access until Access until April 30th 2020)

  • Jurabiblioteket.dk (Adgang mens campus er lukket eller senest til d. 30-04-20)
    Djøf publishers have made most of their online books in the Jurabiblioteket.dk available free of charge to those of SDU's law students who are writing their bachelor thesis or thesis. Students must send an email to the Licensing Office at e-tss@bib.sdu.dk to gain access.

Open access for everyone:

  • Cambridge Textbooks (Access until May 31st 2020)
    Cambridge University Press is making higher education textbooks in HTML format free to access online during the coronavirus outbreak. Over 700 textbooks, published and currently available, on Cambridge Core are available regardless of whether textbooks were previously purchased. 

    Textbook content is read-only and cannot be downloaded.
