The Master’s Degree Programme in Computer Science for working professionals improves your professional level and ability to independently search for and acquaint yourself with new and complex subject matters – qualities which are highly appreciated by employers of computer scientists. During the programme, you will continue developing you insight into scientific theories and methods, your experience with working independently with complex problems (business related or scientific questions), and your ability to express yourself clearly on academic subjects and mediate these to others. Thus, the programme qualifies you to participate in scientific works and independently undertake business functions based on these abilities.

The scientific aspect of the programme is most evident in the Master’s Thesis project, which has a weighting of 60 ECTS. Work on the project is done in close contact with a supervisor and is often related to the supervisor’s own research. It must be said, though, that a Master’s degree is not a research degree as such. To achieve a research degree, you must also complete a PhD programme.
