International education networks
The University of Southern Denmark is part of multiple international networks and partnerships for knowledge sharing and promoting study periods abroad for both students and staff.
SDU’s international networks and partnerships strengthen the opportunity for knowledge sharing across national borders; learning from best practices in other countries and contributing their own experiences in teaching, operations, education administration, development, etc.
International cooperation is also the foundation for students and staff at SDU to go on exchange at universities around the world, and for SDU itself to receive exchange students and staff from other universities, which develops and broadens our horizons.

EPICUR – A European University Alliance
7 European countries, 9 universities, 1 goal: Developing the European University of tomorrow. SDU is a part of the European University Alliance called EPICUR. The nine universities work together to create unique teaching, flexible mobility formats and an institutionalized corporation within education, research, and social commitment.
Erasmus Charter for Higher Education
The University of Southern Denmark participates in the Erasmus+ programme and has an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2014-2020, as well as 2021-2027.
EUA-CDE - Council for Doctoral Education
The mission of the EUA Council for Doctoral Education (EUA-CDE), an integral part of EUA, is to contribute to the development, advancement and improvement of doctoral education and research training in Europe.
European Master in Tourism Management - EMTM
The two year full-time integrated European Master programme is an Erasmus Mundus certified cooperation between the University of Southern Denmark (Kolding), Univerza u Ljubljani (Slovenia) and Universitat de Girona (Spain). Through top-level, research-based education, the programme aims at qualifying graduates to manage the huge challenges faced in contemporary tourism.
European University Association - EUA
The University of Southern Denmark is a member of the European University Association (EUA) which represents and supports more than 850 institutes of higher learning in 46 countries.
Global Campus of Human Rights
The Global Campus of Human Rights is an interdisciplinary centre formed by 41 universities from all European Union Member States. It is founded on a commitment to promotion of high-level inter-disciplinary human rights education, research, training and culture, and a shared global understanding of human rights and democracy.
IAU - International University Association
IAU, founded in 1950, is the UNESCO-based worldwide association of higher education institutions. It brings together institutions and organisations from some 150 countries for reflection and action on common concerns and collaborates with various international, regional and national bodies active in higher education.
International Sustainable Campus Network - ISCN
The International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN) provides a global forum to support leading colleges, universities, and corporate campuses in the exchange of information, ideas, and best practices for achieving sustainable campus operations and integrating sustainability in research and teaching.
Magna Charta Universitatum
The University of Southern Denmark is a member of the Magna Charta which emphasizes the freedom of the universities and strengthens the ties between European universities.
NIBES
SDU is an active partner in the NIBES network. NIBES is a global network of 20 Business and Economic Schools in 19 countries with much more than 5.000 alumni in students mobility programs since 1996. NIBES enhances programs in business, economics & management in terms of the development of expertise for students to act responsibly and successfully in a complex, interdependent and fragile global system
The Nordic Association of Universities (NUS) & The Nordic Association of University Administrators (NUAS)
The Nordic Association of Universities (NUS) was established in 1995. It is an organisational cooperation among the rectors conferences in Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland and Norway. The aim of the Nordic Association of University Administrators (NUAS) is to enhance contacts and to establish networks between the Nordic universities at all administrative levels. NUAS cooperates with the Nordic Council of Ministers, other organizations and authorities in order to promote the Nordic educational community.
The Nordic Centre, Shanghai
The University of Southern Denmark is a member of The Nordic Centre in Shanghai - a collaboration between Fudan University, The Nordic Institute of Asian Studies (NIAS) and 26 Universities from Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Iceland. The centre is a meeting place with funding possibilities for Nordic and Chinese scholars and students.
The Sino-Danish Centre for Education and Research
The University of Southern Denmark and the other Danish universities offer in collaboration with the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences seven Master degrees in Beijing: Water and Environment, Neuroscience and Neuroimaging, Innovation Management, Public Management and Social Development, Nanoscience and Technology, Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, and Life Science Engineering and Informatics. The graduates receive a double degree, i.e. both a diploma from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and a Danish university.
UArctic
As of June 2022, the University of Southern Denmark is a full member of UArctic. UArctic offer many opportunities for both researchers, administrative staff and students to engage in Arctic activities. Yerun
Young research universities (YERUN) bring new perspectives and strengths to the European discussions and, by working together, ensure that the needs of young universites are considered within the European agenda to the benefit of individuals and society at large.
