Studying Abroad

Study period abroad

Is it worth the while to study abroad as a student of law?

The answer, most definitely, is “yes”. A stay at a foreign university benefits you and your studies in numerous ways. It is the Department of Laws’ policy to support students and their wish to study at a foreign university and we strive to make the stay an integrated part of your studies, e.g. by approving courses followed in another country and by having fixed exchange programs with different foreign universities.

We believe, that a stay at a foreign university involves much more than the academic aspects, e.g.:

  • New experiences
  • Cultural impressions
  • The opportunity to learn new languages
  • The opportunity to gain a new insight into one’s own country and its legal system

We recommend that your stay abroad takes place during the Master’s program.

Our exchange programs are administered by the International Office.

The International Office publishes an overview of the programs along with the application deadlines.

You can also contact Professor MSO Steffen Hindelang  at the Department of Law for further information.
