Alexander Brem appointed Honorary Professor at the University of Southern Denmark
Alexander Brem has been awarded an honorary professorship at the Mads Clausen Institute at the University of Southern Denmark - an institute where he has already had crucial influence. The honorary professorship opens up an even closer collaboration between the University of Southern Denmark and the Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU).

This is how Professor Alexander Brem is characterised by Head of the Mads Clausen Institute, Horst-Günter Rubahn. He is therefore also enthusiastic about the German Professor (Chair) of Technology Management being awarded an honorary professorship at the Mads Clausen Institute at the University of Southern Denmark.
A familiar face comes home
Although Alexander Brem will continue with his usual duties at the FAU at the Nuremberg Campus of Technology, the title of Honorary Professor means that he will be closely connected with the Mads Clausen Institute in Sønderborg. Here, from 2014-2016, he was Head of SDU Innovation and Design Engineering.
During his time at the Mads Clausen Institute, he left his mark and helped lay the groundwork for SDU MCI Innovation Lab, which opened its doors to the public in May.

He goes on to explain that the honorary professorship will pave the way for exchange agreements which give the students at the University of Southern Denmark access to the latest knowledge and methods in innovation management.
Impressive CV
Despite his mere 37 years, Alexander Brem has already achieved much. He studied business administration with a major in entrepreneurship at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). After graduating in 2004, he co-founded the consultancy firm VEND consulting, and was half-time PhD student. From 2007 to 2011, after completion of his doctoral degree, he worked full-time at this firm, both as managing director and as consultant focusing on high-tech companies.
In this period, he joined the founding team of the biotech-startup Agrolytix as CEO and won the nationwide Science4Life Entrepreneurship competition and the Business Plan Competition of northern Bavaria. From 2011 to 2014, Alexander Brem held a junior professor position at FAU. Afterwards, he was appointed Professor of Technology and Innovation Management at the Mads Clausen Institute. Since December 2016, Alexander Brem holds the Chair of Technology Management at FAU. Moreover, he is a CCSR international research associate at DeMontfort University (UK) and a visiting professor at the EADA Business School in Barcelona (Spain) and HHL Graduate School of Management (Germany).
His primary research interest is technology and innovation management with a special focus on interdisciplinary links to creativity and entrepreneurship. Alexander Brem has 188 scientific publications on his CV, including 13 books and 88 articles in highly respected scientific journals. His honorary professorship came into force on 1st May 2017.
