Newsletter June 2021: The E-learning Project Fund 2022
This month’s newsletter outlines the criteria for applying for funds from the E-Learning Project Fund 2022. The project fund supports projects on e-learning that contribute to the implementation of the underlying principle of education at SDU which is active teaching and learning.
Criteria
A little over 300,000 kroner have been set aside for the 2022 fund. These will be distributed among selected projects that must all be at least 50% co-financed. Therefore, it is also a requirement that a project be anchored at a faculty or department. In order to be considered, projects must be based on a specific and active use of e-learning within teaching at SDU and focus on pedagogy and learning processes. Before you apply, we recommended that you consult any previous projects within the same area you wish to investigate. The aim of the project fund is to support the acquisition of new knowledge and experiences.
With COVID-19 shutdown in the rearview mirror and in addition to projects under themes such as onboarding /reboarding and inclusion, it would be interesting to see projects from the following inspiration list, which can also be seen as an extension of the experiences from last year’s emergency teaching:
- Competence sharing. Especially in relation to digital teaching
- Digital support via itslearning
- How to convert digital teaching skills into a non-corona framework
- Parallel teaching: Where students are present synchronously both on-ground (physically) and online
- Use of video recordings in connection with. asynchronous demonstration or laboratory lessons.
Collaboration between teachers and involvement of students are encouraged to pool resources and to ensure implementation and joint ownership. One of SDU’s e-learning employees, who can contribute pedagogic knowledge or technical insights, must be connected to your project. In addition, applicants for the E-learning project fund must agree to disseminate the project results and experiences at SDUUP’s annual TAL conference.
Application
Applications for the E-learning project fund 2022 must contain a project summary of maximum 700 characters and must all together be a maximum of 5 pages, including the project plan and budget. Before applying, you must contact one of SDU’s e-learning employees who can give advice and help qualify your project. The deadline is 31 October 2021, and applicants will be notified of the decision in the beginning of December 2021.

Classroom shared drawing – a student response system based on drawing
In 2019, Henrik Skov Midtiby, associate professor at the The Faculty of Engineering, and colleagues received funding from the E-learning project fund to design a new way to receive immediate feedback during lectures via a student response system based on drawing.
The study app – test, guidance and implementation
In 2020, Jens Jørgen Hansen, associate professor at the Institute for Design and Communication at the Faculty of Humanities, received funding from the E-learning project fund, to develop an app for students called the Study App.
