The Center for Maritime and Business History is a research center established in cooperation between the University of Southern Denmark, The Fisheries and Maritime Museum in Esbjerg and the Danish Museum of Industry in Horsens.
Researchers in the center are working on a wide variety of topics in maritime and business history. Geographically, we are specializing in Danish cases in an international perspective, and chronologically we are working on all periods of the modern age, with an emphasis on contemporary history. Theoretically, we have a common interest in using in-depth historical case studies to understand the major transformations of modern capitalism.
