People News from the Faculty of Science, week 16

Professor Susanne Mandrup, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, along with Professor Bo Porse from the University of Copenhagen, has received DKK 2.5 M for the project Control of stem cell fate by (epi)genomic editing of enhancers from DanStem.

Susanne Mandrup has also received DKK 500,000 from the Lundbeck Foundation for the project titled Novel transcriptional regulators and mechanisms controlling browning of human adipocytes.


Postdoc Amelia-Elena Rotaru, Department of Biology, has received DKK 2.5 M for the project MICROBIAL CHEMICAL PLANTS: harnessing microbial metabolism for the production of valuable chemicals.


On 17 April, Professor Emeritus Manfred Euler, honorary professor at Laboratorium for Sammenhængende Uddannelse og Læring (LSUL), gave the inaugural lecture: Physics and life: biologically inspired models of coherence and creative processes.

Simon Svane, Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy, has defended his PhD thesis, Metal Tags for Proteomics.


PhD student Hanne Engelsby, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, has received EUR 680 (DKK 5,000) from the COST trainee grant for participation in the training school titled Skin barrier assessment in occupational dermatology.
