Associate Professor Thomas J. D. Jørgensen has received DKK 1,131,900 from the VILLUM Foundation for a 2-year postdoc position.

Associate Professor Janne Kudsk Klitgaard, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, has received DKK 29,000 from Dansk Procesteknologi for a pilot project in collaboration with AminoNord ApS, which will analyze new antimicrobial agents from plants.

Carsten Uhd Nielsen has been appointed professor at the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy.

Bente Steffansen has been appointed professor at Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy.

Marianela Fallas Dotti, Department of Biology, has defended her PhD thesis titled: Origin and evolution of sulphur processing organisms through time.

Gitte Hoffmann Bruun, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, has defended her PhD titled: Global identification and characterization of isolated, synergistic, antagonistic and competitive binding of two important splicing regulatory proteins in human disease genes.

 
   

Paul Risterucci, Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy, has defended his PhD thesis titled: Coupling of Electron Spectroscopies for high resolution element depth distribution profiles in complex architectures of functional materials.

 
   

Nelson Enrique Arenas Suárez, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, has defended his PhD thesis titled: Antibiotic resistance and susceptibility in Gram-negative bacteria.

 
   

Associate Professor, PhD Yongluan Zhou, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, has received the award for “Best Paper” at The 20th international conference on DAtabase Systems For Advanced Applications (DASFAA), Hanoi, Vietnam. The paper title is: Adaptive Grid-Based k-median Clustering of Streaming Data with Accuracy Guarantee.
