Associate Professor Coen Elemans, Department of Biology, has received funding of DKK 145,200 from the Carls­berg Foundation for the project: A whale of a song - Unraveling sound production mechanisms in toothed whales.


PhD student Pernille Lassen, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, has received the following funding: DKK 25,000 from Steenbeck's Legat; DKK 15,000 from Torben and Alice Frimodts Fond; DKK 10,000 from Oda and Hans Svenningsens Fond; DKK 22,000 from Hans and Nora Buchards Fond; and DKK 10,000 from Christian og Ottilia Brorsons rejselegat for yngre videnskabsmænd og-kvinder. The fundings are for the project Ny behandling for Alzheimers sygdom – et studie fokuseret på det beskyttende peptid sAPPα.

Associate Professor Birgitte H. Kallipolitis, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, has received DKK 400,000 from the Novo Nordisk Foundation for the project titled: How does Listeria respond to hemoglobin?


Journal of Biological Chemistry has named the paper Structural Basis for Phosphorylation and Lysine Acetylation Cross-talk in a Kinase Motif Associated with Myocardial Ischemia and Cardioprotection, Best Paper of the ear in the category “Genomics and Proteomics”. Professor Martin Røssel Larsen (upper image) and postdoc Kasper Engholm-Keller (lower image) are among the authors of the paper.


Anna Søndergaard Jørgensen, Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy, has defended her PhD thesis: Aptamers and Locked Nucleic Acids.
