Jens Krog, PhD student at the Centre for Cosmology and Particle Physics Phenomenology, Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy, has received the special “New Talent” award for the best talk in theoretical physics at the International School for Subnuclear Physics in Erice.
On 16 September, Esben T. Mølgaard, Centre for Cosmology and Particle Physics Phenomenology, Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy, defended his PhD thesis Conformal aspects of quantum field theory and their application to realistic physics and gave the talk Mathematical underpinnings of gauge theories of fundamental interactions: A journey through theory space.
On 15 September, Annemarie Surlykke, Professor at the Department of Biology and John Hallam, Professor at the Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller Institute, gave the talk Flagermus og ekkolokalisering at the Danish University Extension.
On 18 September, Coen Elemans, Associate Professor at the Department of Biology, gave the talk: The Real "All-singing, All-dancing" Thing: Sound Production and Communication in Songbirds.
On 19 September, Gerda Maria Hübner, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, defended her PhD thesis Mechanisms of protein recognition and phosphorylation by protein kinases.
