Students meet companies at the Business Brunch at SDU Esbjerg

The Business Brunch on Friday the 3rd of March was a full success. Almost 200 students signed up before the event representing all academic areas of the campus.

At 9 in the morning when the Business Brunch on the SDU campus in Esbjerg had just started, the place was already full of students and the event was well visited throughout the whole day. Some students joined the event spontaneously without signing up beforehand. In the end more than 250 people attended the event including visitors from outside.
In a lively and relaxed atmosphere students were able to meet companies, hand out their CVs and have a small Brunch from the open buffet.

Not only the buffet, but also the job and internship opportunities looked great! Most companies came to the Brunch with some student job or internship offers. In total 44 ads were offered ranging from student jobs or ordinary jobs to internships and projects. The students were actively approaching the companies but also the companies showed a great interest in engaging into conversations with the students passing their stands.
“The Business Brunch in Esbjerg appeared to be rewarding for both students and company representatives. All participants were provided with name tags and had the chance to inform themselves about current projects, jobs and internships offered by the local companies at a pin wall. I had the feeling that the job descriptions were targeted at the local study programs. In general a nice and busy event.” – a comment from Levke Jepsen from SDU Business in Sønderborg.

While some students used this opportunity simply to see what jobs are “out there”, others came with the goal of landing a student job or an internship.
Furthermore, SDU Business offered the students to look at their CVs and give them hints on how to improve their applications. This offer was really attractive to a lot of students and therefore much frequented.

“I see this as a good opportunity for students, companies, municipalities, and SDU in general to build stronger relationships to each other. The goal for each of the participant can be very different, but I have the impression that the majority got what they came for. Experience with networking, branding of companies, new employees and potential a match with the ads, that was presented during the event. I hope we can continue to have this event at SDU every year” – Comment from SDU Business – Campus Esbjerg.
