Background
The production and management of clinical waste has gained global attention. Due to its heterogeneity and infectious nature, poor disposal of clinical waste can pose serious threats to the environment and public health. Disposal practices in the Northwest Region of Cameroon are questionable while an efficient policy on clinical waste management is lacking in Cameroon.
Purpose

To conduct a prospective Health Impact Assessment (HIA) on clinical waste management in Cameroon.
- To carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) on poor clinical waste management in the Northwest Region of Cameroon

Results
Two papers have been submitted: One about morbidity of children around clinical waste sides and the other one concerning environmental impact of clinical waste incinerators in Cameroon.
Timeframe: January 1st, 2008 - December 31st, 2010
