Heightened focus on problematic traffic conditions on Campusvej

SDU has entered into dialogue with Odense Municipality to find the fastest possible way to improve clearly problematic conditions for motorists driving to and from Campusvej

Since Monday this week, the University of Southern Denmark has received an incredible number of complaints concerning the traffic conditions on Campusvej in Odense.

The situation has been particularly exacerbated in connection with Odense Municipality's regulation and deployment of new traffic lights at the Campusvej/Niels Bohrs Allé intersection, where drivers are experiencing major difficulties getting to and from Campusvej during peak hours: in the morning and during the after-work rush.

Video recording and traffic counting

SDU has documented this problem using video recordings, Odense Municipality has used a traffic counter at the intersection and Fyns Police have been there physically and are also aware of the sluggish re-routed traffic.

With this accumulated knowledge as their starting point, the University of Southern Denmark has entered into dialogue with Odense Municipality to find the fastest possible way to improve the clearly problematic traffic conditions.

Looking to the long term, SDU has stepped up the way it handles administration with relevant authorities and grant recipients in order to speed up the introduction of a new road that will run west from Munkebjergvej to the University of Southern Denmark's campus in Odense.
