The SDU Global Sustainable Production section focuses on a sustainable production with a global outlook.

Sustainable Production is production that integrates Social and/or Environmental Sustainability with Organizational Performance. Here, Social Sustainability refers to human rights, social dialog, diversity, occupational health and safety, labour standards, knowledge sharing related to social sustainability, racism, HR, social innovation/entrepreneurship and the local community impact, and Organizational performance covers both operational and competitive performance.

The researchers take a global perspective in their research; either in terms of comparative studies covering several countries or working with global production and innovation networks. Furthermore, the section aims at being involved in research that critically unpacks the potential for creating synergies between social and/or environmental and organizational performance.

The section will cover research in both manufacturing and service industries (including public services such as hospitals) working with both basic and applied research with main emphasis on applied research. This research will be undertaken in Danish as well as in international settings.
