The process

Initiation of a process that will result in a PhD collaboration agreement with a foreign university must be done by contact being made by the department (head of department, research group leader, or potential principal supervisor) with the PhD school secretariat.
The contact person from the department is to collect information about the university and must research the site.  The person initiating the process must then decide on the kind of cooperation desired - including whether there is a desire for a double or joint degree - to the PhD school's secretariat. The department's contact person also must provide for the preparation of a project description and title, CV, completed application form, publication list, references, timetable of expected knowledge dissemination, an annual schedule for attendance at the University of Southern Denmark, budget, and completion of the supervisor form.

The application material is to be sent to the PhD school secretariat at phdsek@sam.sdu.dk. Following this, the material is sent to the relevant professional committee, which is to assess whether the candidate is qualified for enrolment at the PhD school at the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences.

Preparation of the actual contract is handled by the PhD school with guidance from the Legal Office. The PhD school will also ensure that the required signatures are obtained. When the contract is signed, the PhD student is then enrolled at the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences.

If you want to enter into an agreement for a joint or double degree or want to hear more about the possibilities of doing so, A/C administrative officer Natalie Maria Olsen at phd.sek@sam.sdu.dk  can be contacted
