The process

To initiate a process seeking to result in a collaboration agreement with a foreign university, the department (head of department, research group leader or potential principal supervisor) will contact the PhD School’s secretariat.

The contact person from the department obtains information about the university and researches the site.
The person in question provides details of the desired cooperation, including whether there is a desire for a double or joint degree, for the PhD School’s secretariat. The department’s contact person also prepares a project description and title, CV, completion of the application form, publication list, references, schedule of expected dissemination of knowledge, an annual schedule for attendance at the University of Southern Denmark, budget and completion of the supervisor form. You can read more about the mentioned documents under the
cooperation agreements tab and find the relevant forms under relevant forms.

The department’s contact person also prepares a project description and title, CV, completion of the application form, publication list, references, schedule of expected dissemination of knowledge, an annual schedule for attendance at the University of Southern Denmark, budget and completion of the supervisor form.

The application material is sent to the PhD School’s secretariat at phdsek@sam.sdu.dk. The material is then sent to the relevant course committee, which assesses whether the candidate is qualified for enrolment at the PhD School at the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences.

The contract is prepared/adapted by the PhD School (with a draft from the foreign university) with feedback from the Law Office.

The PhD School makes sure to obtain the required signatures. Once the contract has been signed, the PhD student is enrolled at the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences.

If you want to enter into an agreement on a double degree or would like more information on your options in this regard, please contact us at phdsek@sam.sdu.dk.
