Peter Simonsen

Peter Simonsen is Professor of European literature at the Department for the Study of Culture. His early research was concerned with the impact of ageing on a creative poet’s work. More recently he has studied representations of ageing and the aged in contemporary Scandinavian and Anglophone literatures, including the state of health of literary characters as related to the welfare state in interdisciplinary collaborations with health science. Future research interests include the practical uses of literary works of art in health promotion and education, with special focus on elderly individuals.
