The Danish Institute for Advanced Study (DIAS) has opened recruitment for eight new academic positions across all five faculties at the University of Southern Denmark.
The positions span a wide range of fields - from economics, digital society, and green transition politics to biophysics, computing, engineering, psychology, and applied philosophy - and include both DIAS Chairs and DIAS Fellows.
At DIAS, research is driven by a simple but demanding idea: that some of the most interesting and impactful thoughts emerge when researchers are given the time, freedom, and trust to think deeply - and when disciplinary boundaries are treated as starting points rather than limits.
DIAS brings together outstanding researchers from across fields and career stages in a shared intellectual community grounded in curiosity, dialogue, and academic excellence. Fellows benefit from reduced teaching and close engagement in DIAS activities, while Chairs play a central role in mentoring, community-building, and shaping the institute’s interdisciplinary profile.
This call is aimed at researchers who are deeply rooted in their own disciplines, but curious about what lies just beyond them - whether they are early-career scholars ready to grow, or senior researchers eager to help shape an ambitious, interdisciplinary research environment.
