The course is free of charge and there is no exam. The course runs in the last two weekends of August (17-18 and 24-25 August).
During the course we will will re-visit the main parts of what Danish high-school students are taught as part of A-level mathematics. The teaching will be interactive, and there will be a lot of material for the students to work on along the way.
Topics included:
- Basic algebra, including solving linear, quadratic and nonlinear equations
- Theory of functions: limits and continuity
- Differentiation and optimization in one and several variables
- Integration
- A first look at linear algebra: vectors and solving linear equation systems
The course is offered as a physical event at SDU Odense, as well as online via Zoom. Large parts will also be recorded for the possibility of later on-demand streaming.
The course will be taught in English to accommodate international students, but the teacher is Danish, and thus all questions and informal discussions may be carried out in Danish.
