FAQ - frequently asked questions about library resources and services

Returning and picking up loans:
All users can order, pick up and drop off books and other material at the library. The library is open 24/7 for students and staff - access by student card / employee card. 
Other users can pick up materials at our service hours - see information for your library here.

Guidance:
Our library staff is ready to guide you if you visit us at the library during our service hours.
In addition, you can contact us by phone at 6550 2622 (instructions) and 6550 2611 el. 6550 1437 (counter / lending), and via email: 
sdub@bib.sdu.dk, we will help you as best we can on all weekdays from 9 AM - 3 PM

Courses:
All courses and events can be
 fund at www.sdu.dk/libcourses - remember to book your spot

Reading rooms:
All students  have 24/7 access to the library's reading rooms.

Q&A:

Q: I need a book from the library  - what do I do?
A: You can
 order the book in the library catalogue at www.sdu.dk/ebibYou will receive an email when the book is ready for collection. The book is ready for you on the library's pick-up shelf under the number that can be seen in the email. Remember to lend the book via the self-lending machine.

 Q: When can I enter the library?
A: All students and staff have access to the Library 24/7. Use your student card / employee card to gain access.

 Q: I would like to get hold of a book or article that might be available electronically - how do I do that?
A: There is access to the library's many databases, e-books and electronic articles here: Materials
Use your SDU login to access.

Q: I would like a copy of an article in a journal - how do I order it?
A: You can order the item via Order

Q: Can I get in touch with the library?
A: The staff is ready to help you when you visit us. In addition, the library staff is ready by phone and email from Monday to Friday at 9-15. You can see contact information for the library here: Contact

Q: When can I drop off books at the library?
A: Students and staff at SDU can hand in books at the library 24/7  via the self-lending machine. Outside service hours, other users can use the drop box.

Q: I have been told that I can pick up a book - what do I do?
A: You will receive an email when the book is ready for pick up. The book is ready for you on the library's pick-up shelf under the number that can be seen in the email.
Remember to lend the book via the self-lending machine.

Q: Can I get help from a librarian?
A: Yes you can: Contact us for help by phone or email, as well as in the libraries in Esbjerg, Kolding, Odense, Slagelse and Sønderborg. See more on our contact information page.

Q: I am working on an assignment and need help searching for information / literature - what do I do?
A: You can contact us by phone (6550 2622 - Monday to Friday at 9-15) or send us an email: sdub@bib.sdu.dk, and we will help you as best we can.

Q: I am working on my thesis and would like the help of a librarian for my literature search - what do I do?
A: You can use our Book a Librarian service, and you will be contacted by a librarian who can help you by phone or email.

Q: I'm having trouble getting my Endnote to work - what do I do?
A: Write to endnote@bib.sdu.dk and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Q: I'm having trouble accessing a particular article.
