FabLab

FabLab

FabLab is a workshop for students and staff at SDU. The 3D printers can also be used by the public.

It offers the following services:

  • Recording studio with soundproofing - book time here

    (NOTE: If you need podcast equipment or an iPad on a stand, this must be lend separately. Please contact staff in the library.).

    The studio is located in the library on Campusvej.

     

  • 3D printers - book time by selecting a "Ultimate-3D-printer" here

     

    Equipment in ODENSE that can be used on site or taken home:

  • A PC with dual monitors with graphics programmes such as Indesign and Photoshop and a wide range of statistics and simulation programmes
  • iPads (for film shooting - incl. microphone, tripod, bags etc.)
  • GoPros (for dynamic film recording - incl. grips etc.)
  • Osmo Mobline (handheld camera stabiliser for smartphones etc.)
  • Brother ScanNCut film cutter
  • Podcast equipment
  • Dictaphones
  • Various chargers and cables

Use of 3D printers: Walk-in use is available, but it may be beneficial to book an appointment. If you exceed your time reservation by more than 15 minutes, the reservation is cancelled and the equipment can be used by someone else. Note: 3D printing must be completed within the library's operating hours.

Rules for borrowing equipment from FabLab: The loan period is usually max. 1 week.

The library's loan rules also apply when borrowing equipment from FabLab, which means that materials that are damaged or lost during the loan period are replaced by the borrower.

FabLab is a laboratory for creative learning and a research facility. It is a place where the Library facilitates products and ressources for you to use and learn. We recomend you to explore manuals or internet tuttorials to guide your learning-by-doing.
