The following Nordic exams give full access to admission to Danish Bachelor's programmes (3- and 3,5-year):
- Sweden: a 3-year upper secondary exam or equivalent.
- Norway: attained general university entrance qualification through a 3-year high school diploma or equivalent.
- Island: a 4-year 'studentsprof' with at least 140 'einingar', 200-240 'fein' or equivalent.
- Finland: both 'Ylioppilastutkintotodistus' / 'studentexamensbetyg' and 'lukion päättötodistustus' / 'avgångsbetyg' from high school.
Other exams may qualify for admission but could be limited to acceptance in quota 2 and/or admission to 3.5-year engineering programmes.
All SDUs education programmes require you to have passed certain subjects at certain levels.

As an applicant with a foreign educational background, you must document your language skills, regardless of whether Danish/English is listed as part of the programme’s requirements for passed courses:
- You must document your Danish language skills if you apply for admission to a Danish-language programme – even if you are a Danish citizen.
The requirement is met by Swedish/Norwegian/Icelandic at a level equivalent to Danish A. The requirement cannot be fulfilled using Finnish.
- You must document your English language skills, regardless of the language of the programme.
The requirement is fulfilled if you have passed English at a level equivalent to the Danish B-level, unless the applied programme requires English A.
If you do not meet the requirements with subjects in your degree, it is necessary for you to complete an approved language test or exam:
You must apply no later than 15 March at 12:00 noon
With a foreign degree, you must always apply for admission no later than 15 March at 12:00.
Documents to include with a Nordic exam:
- Your upper secondary school diploma
- Separate documentation for language proficiency in case requirements are not met via courses in your exam
We recommend that you participate in SDU’s admission test
After applying, you will be invited to participate in SDU's admission test to qualify for the quota of study places allocated based on test results (quota 2).
Depending on your grade point average, and how your grades convert to the Danish grading scale, you may qualify for admission to the study places allocated based on grades alone (quota 1). However, we recommend that, in any event, you also take the admission test for quota 2 study places to maximise your chances.

NOTE: It is always your first grade point average that counts
In Denmark, it is not possible to improve your examination results by retaking courses or taking supplementary courses after completing upper secondary school. This means that the calculation of a Danish grade point average is based on the original diploma.
Improvements or supplementary courses must therefore be listed on a separate document.
