Vicente Cutanda’s career is clearly within the field of Acoustics. After his Ms.C. in Telecommunication Engineering at the Polytechnical University of Madrid, he has gathered professional and academic experience within some branches of Acoustics, such as numerical acoustics, acoustic metrology, acoustic measurement techniques and acoustic transducers.
His Ph.D. at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) dealt with numerical modelling of acoustic transducers. As a part of the Ph.D., he was hired at the company Brüel & Kjær as a R&D engineer, and contributed to the development of acoustic equipment.
At the Centro Nacional de Metrología (National Centre of Metrology, CENAM) in México, Vicente Cutanda acquired a new, but related, area of experience, acoustic metrology. His position as coordinator of the Mexican standards in Acoustics had mixed technical and organizational aspects.
He spent two years as Assistant Professor at the Department of Signal Theory and Communications of the University of Vigo (Spain). He taught subjects related to Acoustics. He was part of the SONITUM group, a university group aimed at the diffusion of knowledge of acoustics in the society, through courses, events and general advice.
In November 2006, Vicente Cutanda joined the University of Southern Denmark as Associate Professor. He is doing teaching and research in the field of Acoustics.
