Steffen Husby is Professor of Paediatrics, University of Southern Denmark since 2000. Head Paediatric Gastroenterology, Odense University Hospital, since 1995.
He has his Medical degree from University of Southern Denmark, 1980. Basic training in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics 1980-2. Research fellow University of Southern Denmark, 1982-6. Fellow, Department of Paediatrics, Odense University Hospital, 1986-9 and Department of Paediatrics, Kolding Hospital, 1989-1990. Visiting scientist, University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA, 1990-91. Staff member, Department of Pediatrics, Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark, 1991-5.
He has been a council member (scientific secretary) ESPGHAN, 2003-5. Member of Scientific Committee UEGF, 2006-9. Editorial Board member Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, 2005-9, member of Gastroenterology Committee, ESPGHAN, 2008-.
Author of approx. 100 scientific papers. Research interests: gastrointestinal inflammation , celiac disease and allergy in children.
He has been main supervisor of 4 finished Ph.D. studies and is currently supervising 3 Ph.D. students.
Member of Danish Paediatric Society, European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN), Society for Mucosal Immunology.
