Research areas
My research interests are centred around the innovation literature and specifically the literature on product development. In particular I am concerned with the importance of collaborations between companies with regards to the development of new products and services. The understanding of companies collaborations contributes to emphasise whether the single firm's own resources can be combined with those of other companies to enusre that products are developed faster, cheaper or at a higher quality.
Themes: product development in inter-organisational relationships, knowledge sharing, open innovation, fuzzy front end and control over activities.
Another important research area is the understanding of compnaies decisions to outsource. When companies outsource they partily render control over other former activities. This raises a number of questions; what activities should be outsourced, where should the outsourcing go and not least what relationships should be developed so that the outsourcing becomes successful.
Themes: outsourcing, offshoring, relationships and competence maintenance, strategic decisions in outsourcing processes.
