MAIN RESEARCH INTERESTS
• Health psychology: What are the psychological determinants of health and illness? Focus: pain research, stress and mental health problems.
• Physical activity research: How does physical activity affect health promotion, and prevention and treatment of sickness?
• Environmental psychology: How are physical environment and psychological processes linked together?

2010- Head of research for the project "Movement and emotion. Group counelling and physical training of PCO-patients"
2009-2007 Head of research for the intervention project “Chronic pain and prevention of long-term illness”, financed by the National Research Centre for the Working Environment, Intervention period 2007-2008.
2007-2005 Head of research for the evaluation of ”Body & learning – a project about physical activity and drug abuse” in West Zealand, Denmark, financed by West Zealand Council. Evaluation period 2005-2007.
2007-2004 Head of research project (alongside associate professor Bjarne Ibsen, University of Southern Denmark) for the evaluation of “Sport and Nutrition on Prescription” with patients in Copenhagen suffering from type 2 diabetes, hypertension and overweight. Evaluation period 2004 to 2007.
2006 Head of research for a project on “Environmental psychology and sports facilities”, financed by the Danish Foundation for Cultural and Sporting Facilities in cooperation with the institute of “Wohnen und Umwelt”, Darmstadt, Germany.
2006-2005 Head of research for the evaluation of ”Sport on Prescription with chronically rheumatic patients” in West Zealand, Denmark, financed by the Danish Directorate of Health. Evaluation period 2005-2006.
