SDU Software Club
Software Club is a forum at SDU where students, organizations, researchers and teachers meet to exchange knowledge and to network. We are expecting to conduct 6 – 8 of these meetings annually where there will be one or two presentations followed by a discussion and an opportunity to network.
The program for each meeting will be announced a week or two prior to the event. The meeting is open to all those who are interested but registration is necessary. Please register to the meeting below by sending an e-mail to Kirstine Trettin (email@example.com) and please use the same address if you have suggestions for future meetings.
Please note that seats are allocated on a first come, first served basis and that you will only receive an email if you did not sign up fast enough.
Date, time and place:
May 17, 2017, 2 – 4 p.m., the Maersk Building (lunch room/frokoststuen)
Microservices is a software architectural style that is currently receiving significant industrial attention. This presentation will focus on the distributed solution Systematic currently is developing for the offshore wind energy market as a practical example on a microservice architecture. This includes different aspects such as how to design applications based on microservices, how to develop them, and how to test microservicebased systems. The drivers for the selection of a microservice architecture will be presented, such as the ability to scale the project size quickly and isolation of concerns. The architectural design decisions and some of the "do's" and definite "don’ts" will be presented. The presentation will show not only some of the strengths of a microservice architecture, but also some of the weak aspects of such an architecture.
