Department of Environmental and Business Economics covers research areas and activities with a focus on environmental and resource economics, rural research, sport and event management, cultural sociology, buyer behaviour and innovation.
The focal point of the research is the strategic and applied research within well-defined areas. We collaborate with the surrounding society as often as possible which can be seen both in the form of research projects and in our study programmes. We also carry out commissioned research for the Danish Maritime Authority, as well as under the auspices of the Centre for Rural Research for the Ministry for Housing, Urban and Rural Affairs. The Department is also involved in the Risk Centre.
The Department was founded in 1998 and is housed at Campus Esbjerg. The Department manages all study programmes offered at the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences in Esbjerg: Bachelor and master programmes in Business Administration, Sport and Event, Sociology, and in collaboration with Aalborg University the bachelor and master programmes in Environmental and Resource Management, and the Risk and Safety Management programme.
