Starting Grant

ERC Starting Grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they are starting their own independent research team or programme. This action is open to researchers of any nationality who intend to conduct their research activity in any Member State or Associated Country.

Deadline: Tuesday March 25 at 5PM, Brussels local time.


Marie Skłodowska-Curie
Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE)

The RISE scheme will promote international and inter-sector collaboration through research and innovation staff exchanges, and sharing of knowledge and ideas from research to market (and vice-versa) for the advancement of science and the development of innovation.
The scheme fosters a shared culture of research and innovation that welcomes and rewards creativity and entrepreneurship and helps to turn creative ideas into innovative products, services or processes.

Deadline: Thursday 24 April at 5PM, Brussels local time


Danish Diabetes Academy
1/3 PhD scholarship

Prospective PhD candidates can apply with a recommendation from the potential principal supervisor. The PhD project in question has to relate to the prioritized research areas of the Danish Diabetes Academy, i.e. type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, diabetic complications, diabetes and pregnancy and diabetes technology. Already enrolled PhD students cannot apply.

Deadline: Monday March 3, at 12 noon.



The Danish Council for Independent Research

New instrument: YDUN (Younger women Devoted to a UNiversity career)

This is a special program that is offered only once.

The applicant must be a recognized researcher, i.e. to apply the applicant must for several years have been doing research on a scientific level and also be rated as qualified by an expert committee in connection with an application for an associate professorship at a university, a senior position in a government research institution, a hospital or a position at a similar level at a foreign research institution. It is presupposed that a person who is not in possession of such academic assessment will be considered classified as a recognized researcher if he/she has an overall academic activity and production at a similar level.

DFF-YDUN can not be applied for by professors, professors with special responsibilities or clinical professors.

- FNU: 30 April at 10PM
- FSS: 9 May at 10 PM
- FTP: 7 May at 10 PM



To all applicants:
Please remember the university’s procedures for internal approval of external funding applications:
SOS and FSØ need five days to complete and approve the budget.
The head of department needs additional five days to approve both the application and the final budget.
