Rules for re-enrolling
When applying for a re-enrollment, you must have passed the entire first year of the programme you want to enter. Furthermore, there must be vacant study places in the relevant steps of the programme.
If you have not passed the entire first year, you have to apply for regular admission instead - in the same manner as when you first entered the programme. If you are accepted, you will have to apply for a credit transfer afterwards.
Did you stop your enrollment?
If you have chosen to discontinue your programme, 5 months must pass before you can re-enroll.
Did the university stop your enrollment?
If the university discontinued your enrollment due to a lack of examination attempts or lacking activity, rejoining the programme is only possible if you can prove that your ability to complete the programme has bettered substantially.
You need to document the circumstances that prevented you from completing the programme. You also have to substantiate that these circumstances will no longer affect your ability to complete the programme.
If you have used up your attempts in one or more examinations, you also have to attach an application for new attempts.
How to apply
The application form
To apply for a re-enrollment, you have to fill out an online application form.
When applying for a re-enrollment, you need to attach the following enclosures to your application:
- A transcript of records from you discontinued programme listing all examination attempts
- If the university discontinued your enrollment: An application for exemption in which you document the circumstances that prevented you from completing the programme and prove how these circumstances no longer affect your ability to complete.
- If you have used up your attempts in one or more examinations: An application for further attempts - remember to attach documents proving unusual circumstances.
The application deadline is June 1 for admission in September and November 1 for admission in February. Unless the programme is covered by the ministerial dimensioning of study programmes (see below), you can apply for a re-enrollment in February or in September, not depending on the regular study start of the programme.
When you apply before the deadline, your application will be answered no later than July 1/December 20. The answer will be forwarded to the e-mail address listed in your application.
After the deadline you can still apply. If you apply after the deadline, you will receive your answer very close to and in some cases even after the study start. So remember to apply in time. After the beginning of a semester you can no longer apply.
Transferring to the Medicine programme
It is not possible to apply for a re-enrollment to the bachelor's or the master's programme in Medicine. Generally there are no vacant study places in these programmes. If vacant study places should occur, it will be announced on this site.
You can apply for regular admission to the programmes, as long as you have not passed what equates the entire first year of the programme at University of Southern Denmark.
Special rules for dimensioned programmes
A number of programmes at University of Southern Denmark are covered by a ministerial 'dimensioning', regulating the intakes in programmes within certain academic fields.
In the dimensioned programmes a limit is set to how many students can be taken in each year. The limit covers applicants who apply for regular admission to the first year of the programme as well as applicants wanting re-enrollment to a later step in the programme. Therefore, re-enrollment to a dimensioned programme is not possible if all of the study places are filled up in the regular intake.
For the same reason, we cannot answer your application before we have answered all applications for regular admission. If you want to re-enroll in a dimensioned bachelor's programme, you application will not be answered before August.
For dimensioned programmes you can only apply starting in September.
