Enrolment in general

Changing curricula

Deadline for applications: 1st of June for studies commencing on 1 September
Deadline for applications: 1st of November for studies commencing on 1 February

If you want to change the terms of your enrolment, i.e. change between two curricula in the same programme (same subject and same level), you can do so on an ongoing basis if all of the conditions for this have been fulfilled. You must make sure that the credits for your examinations are transferred to the new curriculum and you should note that the examinations you have passed cannot be retaken unless they have become obsolete.

If you wish to apply, please use the following application forms:

Re-enrolment

Deadline for applications: 1st of June for studies commencing on 1 September
Deadline for applications: 1st of November for studies commencing on 1 February

You can apply for re-enrolment if you withdrew from a programme for a period of time and want to resume it. This is on condition that there are vacant places. You must have passed all of the first year programme elements (60 ECTS points). However, there is a stipulation at the University of Southern Denmark that students who have voluntarily withdrawn from a programme cannot re-enrol within a period of five months. The university cannot grant exemption from this rule. This means that you have to have withdrawn from the programme no later than 1 April to start the programme on 1 September and no later than 1 September to start the programme on 1 February.

Please note that for re-enrolment in either a bachelor or Master's programme you will be enroled under the newest curricula if your application is granted. If there are exceptionally good reasons to grant an exemption from this you might be able to be re-enroled under an older curricula.

Enrolment for a whole term

If you have voluntarily withdrawn from a programme and want to re-enrol at the university, you should note that you can only register for an examination if you have been enrolled from the start of the semester in which you wish to take the examination. This also applies if you only need to submit a thesis. The University of Southern Denmark cannot grant exemption from this rule.

Transfers

Deadline for applications: 1st of June for studies commencing on 1 September
Deadline for applications: 1st of November for studies commencing on 1 February

You can apply for a transfer if you are enrolled in a Bachelor programme or a graduate programme at another university and want to transfer to the same programme at the University of Southern Denmark. Your application will be granted if there are vacant places at the stage of the programme that you can be transferred to in accordance with an academic evaluation. When you apply for a transfer to a Bachelor programme you must at least have passed all of the examinations which, in pursuance of the curriculum, must be taken during the first year of studies of the programme you are enrolled in (60 ECTS points). The university can grant exemption from this rule in special circumstances – see below. Transfers can only take effect from the beginning of a term, so the deadline for applications is respectively 1 November for studies commencing on 1 February, and 1 April for studies commencing on 1 September.

Medicine – special transfers

Deadline for applications: 1st of June for studies commencing on 1 September
Deadline for applications: 1st of November for studies commencing on 1 February

If you are studying medicine at another university in Denmark or abroad, you may be able to apply for a transfer. According to the rules for this, you must have passed the first-year examination in your programme and must also have passed what corresponds to the first-year examination at the University of Southern Denmark. In addition, there must be a vacant place at the stage of the programme you have arrived at. If you are in doubt as to whether you can transfer, it will be a good idea to apply for enrolment in the programme through the Coordinated Enrolment System. You can find more information about how to apply on this website: Transferring to the study of Medicine.

Administrative enrolment

Deadline for applications: 1st of June for studies commencing on 1 September
Deadline for applications: 1st of November for studies commencing on 1 February

You can apply for administrative enrolment in Bachelor programmes and graduate programmes if you have passed the study elements that correspond to the first year of studies (60 ECTS points) in the programme you want to enrol in. The condition for this is that there are vacant places at the stage of the programme in question. If you have not passed the study elements that correspond to the first year of studies, you must apply for enrolment through the Coordinated Enrolment System.

If you are in doubt about whether to apply for admission or administrative enrolment, we recommend that you contact the Admissions office. Administrative enrolment can only take place at the beginning of a term, so the deadline for applications is 1 November for studies commencing on 1 February, and 1 April for studies commencing on 1 September.

Dispensation due to special circumstances

The university can grant exemption from the above in special circumstances.

It is not possible to draw up a list of such circumstances as we consider each application individually, but examples of special circumstances could be you or a close relative suddenly becoming ill or being affected by some other event (traffic accident, fire, theft, etc.), that is beyond your control.

Send your application for changing curricula, re-enrolment, transfer or administrative enrolment accompanied by relevant documents to the Admissions Office via SPOC. A staff member will contact the Academic Study Board in question in connection with matters of an academic character.
