SDU is a council member of the Nordic Centre at Fudan University in Shanghai. A profound opportunity to participate in one of two summer course is therefore provided to our student. The course, as well as expected overnight trips in the region of Shanghai, costs 110 euro/800 RMB (2017). Travel and living expenses is to be covered by the student.
Both courses take place in Shanghai, China and are worth 5 ECTS. There is no previous knowledge required for either course.
In order to get credit for the summer course, you will have to apply for a pre-approval at your study board.
If accepted, the student can apply for a grant of 3.500,- DKK from SDU International. The grant requires a preapproval from the students study board of merit of 5 ECTS from the summer course.
Chinese Politics and Society: Undergraduate course
Two weeks intensive course from June 22rd - July 5th 2017
The course provides the students with fundamental knowledge of China’s political landscape from the founding of the People’s Republic in 1949 to present. The course is designed with group work assignments.
Overnight study trip to nearby city included.
Doing Business in China: Graduate Course
Two weeks intensive course from July 7th - July 20st 2017
The course is designed with a mix of academics and hands-on case approach to business life in China.
Visits to Nordic companies in the Shanghai region as well as lectures from representatives from the Nordic Business Community.
Overnight trip to a nearby city is included.
The student will have to cover travel expenses, accommodation, medical insurance and spending money.
Accommodation at the Student house is RMB 130 pr. Night. (Ca. 135 DKK)
Participation one-time fee is RMB 800 in cash upon arrival. (Ca. 832 DKK)
Some meals will be covered by the Nordic Centre.
In order to be considered for the nomination for one of these courses, you will have to fill out the Application form and submit it to “SDU International” by March 18th at the latest. Please mark your application “Nordic Center Summer Course” and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The application should include:
- The attached application form
- A copy of your latest transcript from SDU
- A letter of motivation – max 300 words
We will then select three students for nomination and submit the response to the Nordic Centre at Fudan University in China.
