It is possible for you to learn Danish at the University of Southern Denmark – for free! If you learn Danish it will increase your options for finding a job, as many Danish companies only work and communicate in Danish. Even though you do not think, it will be necessary for you to learn Danish during your stay, you never know, if you might want to stay longer time in Denmark than originally planned. We have quite often heard about international researchers and PhD’s, who have regretted that they did not learn Danish from their beginning of their stay here.
To enroll in the program, you need to contact your department secretary or Carolin Lemke Jensen from HR Development at firstname.lastname@example.org, within two weeks of obtaining your CPR number. Participation in the program is free, as are all teaching materials. Please note that in order to maintain your right to attend the free Danish courses, you must meet this two week deadline.
Of course there are also international companies in Denmark, where you can find a job, if you can only speak English. But many Danes likes, if you are able to speak Danish. Speaking the Danish language is also a good way for you to get the Danes and your colleagues to open up and talk e.g. to a coffee meeting or at a job interview.
The Danish Language Course classes will be held here at all SDU campuses.
