The aim of this workshop is to introdce early career researchers to tools that will allow them to become more effective writers. The workshop focuses on the practical process of scientific writing and how that process can be used efficiently to facilitate clear scientific communication. Participants are introduced to ways of analysing the literature that will act as tools to guide their own writing and identify more clearly which approaches and styles are most effective in their own fields. In addition to lectures and practical exercises, participants gain hands-on experience of using the insights they gain into the writing process to begin writing about their own work.
Aim of course
Active participation in this workshop will help young researchers to gain confidence in their capacity to become effective scientific writers and to integrate writing into their work. The workshop also serves as a foundation to allow participants to take full advantage of the intensive Writing for Publication programme.
