Global Transformation Studies
The Centre for Contemporary Middle East Studies at the Faculty of Humanities offers a Supplementary Bachelor Programme in Global Transformation Studies
The Supplementary Bachelor Programme is a one-year programme consisting of course work equivalent of 45 ECTS. The aim of the course is to give students solid knowledge of recent global transformations. More specifically the course introduces students of the humanities and the social sciences to three central dimensions of ongoing global transformations: The formation and future of global politics; processes of divergence and convergence in the realm of culture and religion; and consequences of the increasing interdependence of economic transactions. The programme has a historical and political outset supplemented by an interdisciplinary approach. The period of study is one year, but the organization of the courses in the programme allows for these to be integrated into other degrees or programmes from other universities. The Supplementary Bachelor Programme qualifies, together with a relevant Bachelor Programme, to apply for a Graduate Programme.
