An International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) is a qualifying examination that makes it possible to apply for enrolment in all programmes at the University of Southern Denmark. You can read how we evaluate your examination below.
Deadline for applications and evaluation
If you hold an IB, the deadline for applications is 15 March in the year you are applying for. Your application will be evaluated under quota 2 and quota 1.
Diploma
The International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) must have been passed with a minimum of 24 points before a diploma can be issued. If the examination was passed with fewer points, a certificate will be issued, and such a certificate is not accepted as a qualification for admission to further and higher education in Denmark.
Pass requirements and academic levels
The average obtained from the IB is converted to the 7-point grading scale in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Danish Agency for Universities and Internationalisation. There are specific admission requirements to programmes at the University of Southern Denmark. This means that you must have achieved certain levels in a number of upper secondary school subjects. Read more about the specific admission requirements. Tables drawn up by the Danish Agency for Universities and Internationalisation show whether subjects taken in an IB correspond to the required academic levels.
Fulfilment of the Danish and English requirement
The university has adopted the conversion system for Danish and English levels shown below. An applicant who has taken his/her IB with English as a main language can be granted exemption from the requirement for English B.
